For a slimy, yet satisfying, cool refresher, Eight Spoons Café in Discovery Island will be serving up The Simba! This mango-flavored slushy is combined with grenadine and topped with two gummy worms. Certainly satisfying on those June days when Florida heat can rival that of the surface of the sun! Over at Isle of Java, we pay homage to Timon’s scene and his iconic hulu, with Timon’s Luau. Vanilla chiffon is layered with passion fruit curd and guava jam, and finished off with an edible tropical flower for the lei, and mint for the skirt.

On your way out of Discovery Island, stop at Tiffin’s Restaurant for Rafiki’s Squash Banana. This squash banana shake is blended with baobab fruit, cinnamon, and cardamom. Also, the “Remember Who You Are The Lion King 30th Anniversary Dessert” is a beautiful Kenyan coffee mousse filled with caramelized bananas, chai Chantilly, banana-caramel sauce, chocolate-coffee crumble, chocolate decoration, and sugar sun. This work of art cannot be passed by.

Over in Africa, you must stop at Tamu Tamu Refreshments for the Zazu Ice Cream Sandwich. Vanilla ice cream is sandwiched between two blue cake-coated sugar cookies, adorned with a chocolate medallion on top. In addition, you must follow Rafiki to Harambe Market, for the aptly-named You Follow Old Rafiki Cheesecake. This passionfruit-mange cheesecake has a coconut-lime crust, vanilla bean Chantilly, and a chocolate medallion.

Dinoland U.S.A. will be closing and undergoing a full retheming, so stopping there is a must while we still can. While there, lift your glasses with the Shenzi Strawberry Lemonade from Restaurantosaurus . You will be laughing like a hyena while enjoying this cool drink that combines Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, Minute Maid Strawberry Smoothie, and blue curacao syrup, served with a souvenir glow cube. Following, you will truly be surrounded by idiots if there is anyone without the Rightful Ruler Cupcake in hand! You will find this at Pizzafari, where they take red velvet cake and fill it with cookies ‘n cream cheesecake, and finish it with chocolate icing and a chocolate medallion supported by chocolate rocks.

What Disney trip is complete without Dole Whip? Trilo-Bites will be offering the Zazu Dole Whip Lime and Coconut Float, which swirls Dole Whip Lime into Sprite with coconut and blue curacao syrup, topped with a decorative chocolate medallion. Finally, you won’t be able to keep your paws off of the Simba Paw Cookie! You will find this at various food carts throughout the park.
You will be truly singing “Hakuna Matata” while enjoying these sweet treats and paying homage to the 30th anniversary of this iconic film!
